Elisabeth Norton, author

When I was sixteen, I sold an essay that I wrote for English class to a magazine. On the day that I got my letter of acceptance, a typewriter that I had ordered for college was delivered. I was sure it was a sign that I was meant to be a writer.

My typewriter and I went off to university together, where I did not study English or anything to do with writing. But the dream of being an author remained. Today I write fiction and nonfiction for young readers, including picture books, middle grade novels, and educational materials.

I’m originally from the US, but now live in Switzerland, where I teach English as a foreign language. This means I get to play with words in all of my jobs. You can learn more about my published work here, and you can read some of my poetry on my blog.
